Did you guys here that ICANN or The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, lost their domain name? According to ICANN they said it happened when an Internet registration company it oversees got fooled into transferring the domain names to someone else.
Even though the domain was restored within 20 minutes I can’t help but wonder. This kind of attack sounds like something that should be in an Ocean’s Eleven series. I don’t know what the security ramification are for such an attack but I can’t help but think of the already hightened sense of privacy we are experiencing and how that may be elevated still.
Could this somehow affect those of us who make a living searching the web?
